Case study: Increasing productivity through ERP integration with GRAIDWARE®

Initial situation

A manufacturer of building elements for house construction was confronted with an enormous number of product variants. The large number of product variants, each with individual requirements, led to a highly complex assembly process. Manual scanning processes, time-consuming data entry and intensive employee training were the order of the day in order to ensure data consistency and process reliability.

Our solution

The introduction of GRAIDWARE® in conjunction with integration into the existing SAP ERP system was the decisive turning point. The solution comprises two central components:
• Automated data acquisition: production orders and article master data (e.g. cycle time, parts lists) are automatically transferred from the ERP system.
• Middleware functionality: GRAIDWARE handles the distribution of all production-relevant information to the respective assembly stations in real time - for both manual and automated workstations.

Process optimization

• Employees receive variant-specific instructions and material lists via the GRAIDWARE® terminal.
• Feedback on material consumption, quantities and process data is automatically sent to SAP.
• RFID and integration with machines, robots and conveyor technology ensure a reliable database without manual scanning.
