In the course of current project approaches and concept developments, we came across a compact Bluetooth RFID scanner that has proven to be a promising addition to our GRAIDWARE Center application.
The device reliably reads the EPCs of UHF RFID transponders and transmits them directly to our software. This allows existing workflows to be seamlessly supported—for example, when capturing RFID labels in conjunction with our web-based terminals.
In addition to the economic component—traditional UHF RFID handhelds often cost five to eight times as much—the device also impresses with its industrial suitability: With protection class IP65, it is ideally suited for robust use in production and logistics. The battery life lasting an entire shift, the low weight, and the comfortable handling make the scanner a practical tool for everyday use.
Beyond standard processes, further potential opens up: in combination with tablets or smartphones, the scanner can be used efficiently to retrieve part information as well as container and packaging information—even in addition to the usual process flow. In addition, the option of bulk reading enables quick verification of processes, for example during order picking.
We see great potential in this scanner for offering our customers even more efficient and cost-effective solutions in the future—and will be putting the device to productive use in initial projects in the near future.
